Strength Lies in Family
What begun as hobbies and an urge to preserve and respect nature, evolved into a business idea and in 2012 Eero Fisk started Call of the Wilderness. In the core of the company lies sustainability and year-round operations – with the terms and conditions of the wilderness.The company is family run and in the heart of it you will find Eero and his daughter Kristiina who keep the wheels rolling round the year. Additionally, Kristiina’s mother Anne-Mari joins in by taking are of food and equipment. During wintertime the team grows to include locals that fit the values of the company and have respect for the nature and culture of Pyhä-Luosto.
Eero
Eero (Eepi) is a Lappish soul and the owner of Call of the Wilderness. Eero's pockets overflow with information about culture and nature of Lapland. With a military background, Eero is no stranger to the challenges of the ever changing nature and he has stayed more than 500 nights in the forest. As a grandfather of seven his passion as a guide is to give great and educational experiences in the wilderness.
Kristiina
Kristiina (Krisse) is an active nature guide from Lapland. Former professional football player and nowadays a mother for a 4 year old girl. Her hobbies consist of cross-country skiing, horseback riding and hiking during the summers. Kristiina''s bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management and a year in the army form a strong foundation on how to move in nature and how handle hard situations. Kristiina's personality is always happy and customer service is her priority.
